2016 Crossing England to France and Back.

I am signed up to go; weather permitting, on the first slot of the last neap tide in September. The air is cooler but the water warmer. I'm expecting 16-17 centigrade. I will be accompanied by pilot

Paul Foreman, CS&PF with his boat The Optimist.

For information about how to organize your own swim you can find details on the CS&PF website.

I trained 8 months for my 2013 attempt. I swam about 20-30 kilometers a week and did plenty of cold water swimming in the deep of winter. During the summer I switched to soaking in ice baths during the week and on the weekends I headed to the Alps and found cold mountain lakes. Despite this preparation I was not ready. This time around I will accumulate 2.5 years of training. I am swimming with the masters and I literally drag my body out of the pool. My winter swimming has taken on new and borderline depths in exploring my limits. I fully expect to succeed.

About me

I am is mother of 2 adult daughters, a triathlete, an Aikidoist, a Pilgram of  The Way of St. James,  a Tough Mudder finisher and  GORUCK Tough and Heavy finisher. I attempted to swim the English Channel in 2013 without a wets suit but after 14 hours and 20 minutes I was pulled from the water due to exhaustion. 5 years later I am training to re-attempt the English Channel as well as other bad ass channel crossings in 2019. This time around I am armed with a wholefood plant based organic diet and fortified by natural suppliments too good to now shout about.
